To commemorate its 40th anniversary and as a tribute to its founder, the museum displays in its permanent galleries an important selection of the nearly 300 pieces collected by Franz Mayer during the first half of the 20th century originating from present-day Germany, such as exquisite writing desks, silverware, and rare books.
